What is a facial?

A skincare treatment that cleanses, exfoliates, and moisturizes the skin to address specific concerns, promote overall skin health, and help you relax.


Facials are customized to your skin type and concerns and can help with a variety is skin concerns including:

  • Acne
  • Dryness 
  • Signs of Aging
  • Blackheads
  • Dark Spots and Unevenness

What does a facial include?

Your facial will include:

  • Cleansing to remove makeup, dirt and other impurities.
  • Exfoliation to remove dead skin cells from the surface of your skin.
  • A skin mask personalized for your skin concerns.
  • Moisturizer to keep skin hydrated and supple.
  • Light massage of your face and neck.
  • Product recommendations for your overall skin health.


They may also involve:

  • Facial steaming to open your pores and soften your skin.
  • Extraction of blackheads or whiteheads.
  • Serums and other treatments specifically chosen for your skin.

How often should I get a facial?

Facials are typically recommended every 4-6 weeks, which aligns with your skin’a natural renewal cycle. 

Can I get a facial if I have an autoimmune condition?

Some facials and other cosmetic procedures may be safe for people with autoimmune diseases, but it depends on the type of procedure and the severity of the disease. 

We have created a specialized treatment for clients with autoimmune conditions. It will be very gentle facial, focusing on calming and hydrating the skin with mild products, avoiding harsh exfoliants, aggressive techniques, and ingredients that could potentially trigger inflammation

Are facials safe during oncology treatment?

During treatment you can have a modified version of a facial. We created a specialized oncology restoration facial treatment specifically for oncology patients. This means that your esthetician will not administer steam, exfoliate, or apply extreme heat or cold. A creamy hydrating mask and gentle massage will be performed along with strict infection control practices when providing this service.

What are the benefits of massage and bodywork?

Massage and bodywork can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. Massage and bodywork is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well-being.

Are there different kinds of massage and bodywork?

There are numerous types of massage and bodywork; various techniques utilize different strokes, including basic rubbing strokes, rocking movement, posture and movement re-education, application of pressure to specific points, and more. We can discuss which methods may be most appropriate for you.

Must I be completely undressed for my massage?

Most massage and bodywork techniques are traditionally performed with the client unclothed; however, it is entirely up to you what you want to wear. You should undress to your level of comfort. You will be properly draped during the entire session.

I am self-conscious about _________. What should I do?

We all have parts of our body we're self-conscious about. Some areas you may be concerned about are: 

  • Your weight
  • Unwanted body hair
  • Scars
  • Acne or other skin blemishes

Please don't let this stop you from getting help from a massage therapist. If you're sensitive about a particular area, ask them to avoid it. You can also opt for a fully clothed massage. Whatever your concerns, know that your therapists are friendly, supportive and judgment-free. 

What can I expect from my first personal training session?

Expect a comprehensive assessment that may include discussing your health history, fitness goals, and lifestyle habits. Your trainer might also conduct physical assessments to gauge your current fitness level, such as strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular health.

Together with your trainer, you’ll set realistic, achievable goals. Whether it’s weight loss, muscle gain, improving endurance, or simply becoming more active, clear goals will guide your training program. 

You’ll then be introduced to basic exercises tailored to your fitness level. This not only helps in building a strong foundation but also ensures that you perform exercises safely and effectively.

How long will it take me to see results from training?

Typically, noticeable physical changes might start to appear within three to six weeks of consistent exercise and proper nutrition. However, the timeline can vary greatly depending on individual starting points, goals, and effort levels.

Regular exercise and adherence to your program are important for progress. Consistency over time helps build a foundation for lasting change.

Everyone’s body responds differently to exercise due to factors like genetics, age, starting fitness level, and lifestyle. Some may see rapid initial progress, while others may experience gradual changes.

Understanding that fitness is a personal journey, with its own set of challenges and triumphs, can help set the stage for a fulfilling experience. Remember, mentality dictates reality.

What if I’m not reaching my fitness goals as fast as I expected?

It’s not uncommon to face periods where progress seems slower than anticipated. Take time to review your program with your personal trainer. Small adjustments in your workout intensity, frequency, or nutrition plan can reignite progress.

Success isn’t just measured by the scale or mirror. Improved energy levels, better sleep, increased strength, and other health markers are also signs of progress.


Fitness journeys are marathons, not sprints. It’s important to remain patient and persistent, as progress is rarely linear. Celebrate the small victories along the way.


Consider external factors that might be affecting your progress, such as stress, sleep quality, and nutrition. Holistic attention to your well-being can support your fitness goals.

Should I be following a specific diet while training?

The short answer is yes, but with a focus on balance and alignment with your fitness goals rather than strict or restrictive diets.

A diet rich in whole foods, offering a balance of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, along with sufficient vitamins and minerals, supports overall health and fitness progress. The exact balance can vary depending on your specific goals, such as weight loss, muscle gain, or endurance training.

Your diet should support your training objectives. For example, strength training might require more protein for muscle repair, while endurance activities might necessitate higher carbohydrates for energy.

Considering the complexity of nutrition and its impact on your body and fitness goals, consulting with one of our nutritionist can provide personalized dietary guidance. They can help you navigate dietary choices to optimize your training results.
